Citizens and government institutions caring for the vital fluid: water

Water is essential for any activity: industrial, agricultural and urban. It promotes social and economic development.

In order to achieve a sustainable management of this resource, it is important for all citizens to know the real situation of the water and to collaborate with government institutions in making decisions for responsible water management.

It is essential that all members of society are involved, so that in all aspects of their life (at home, at work, at school, in the community, in the recreation areas) they consider the value of water and they use it efficiently, making sure they don't pollute it, in order to preserve the natural water reserves.

This way citizen participation in the decisions concerned with the use of water will be a complement to the decisions made on an institutional level through the State Water Commissions, the Basin Councils and the Technical Committees of Groundwater all over the country.
